“Democratic voters,” Carmel Pine Cone – May 19, 2023
As a many-time visitor to Carmel for over 50 years, I read with interest a letter concerning the state taking over development control in California cities, including Carmel. While I would hate to see Carmel change, It seems rather disingenuous for residents to argue for protection from the omnipotent governor and Legislature, while the rest of us in other areas suffer their heavy hand.
The preponderance of Democratic voters has given the Legislature a super-majority vote, i.e., no balance. I suspect many in Carmel like how the liberal Legislature runs the state on many issues. Well, that power and control have now come to Carmel to roost. How you vote matters. Vote the person, not the party.
