Recently the Senate took testimony from Biden’s chief of the Interior Department in order to try to comprehend the administration’s plan for mining metals needed for electric vehicle manufacture. Sec. Haaland exhibited a stunning lack of knowledge as to where the critical minerals derive. She had no answer to where the critical nickel, lithium, cobalt, and manganese are produced. She certainly didn’t know the minerals are derived in majority from U.S. adversaries and often by slave labor. It is clear, after the White House has shut down key U.S. mining activities, that the administration has utterly no plan to implement massive manufacture of EVs, without being hostage to China for the resources.
