I am writing to express my concern about the recent coverage of Florida’s Parental Rights Bill by the Associated Press and other members of the legacy media. Despite the facts, they have been spreading a big lie that the bill bans the use of the word gay. This is simply not true. The bill does not even include the word gay. Its purpose is to give parents the right to know what their minor child is being taught in school, including curricula, books and other instructional materials.

Referring to the bill as the “Don’t say gay” law is not only deceptive but also amounts to propaganda, plain and simple. It is a misrepresentation of the bill’s contents and is meant to create controversy and sensationalism where there is none. This type of reporting smacks of election interference and undermines the public’s trust in the media.
